Dine in comfort on the water’s edge. What better place to sit and wait for your ferry ride to arrive than in the Port Phillip Ferries new café and lounge area! Fitted out with new lounge chairs, communal tables and bar areas, this café is the perfect place for groups or individuals alike to relax and enjoy a coffee while they wait for the ferry.

The client originally approached adage wanting to fit out their waiting area, which included a lounge. They wanted to include various seating styles – including a lounge area, bar seating and a communal table. The client came to us with a seating plan already created for them, however they were looking for advice on colours.

The furniture had to match in with the client’s logo and existing flooring, whilst maintain comfort, quality and style. To give the client some more options and allow him to see the furniture in situ, our consultant took samples on site.

The venue is situated close to the water, therefore they need furniture that is durable and able to withstand coastal weather. To combat this, we suggested polypropylene chairs and Gentas table tops. For the sofas, we suggested marine grade vinyl.

The samples and options that were presented to the client met his needs and fulfilled his vision of what he was looking for in the café area. However, he was looking for a large communal table that had power running to it for customers to use as they sit and wait for their ride.

As this was a completely custom product, our consultant designed the table and presented the concept to the client. Once they were happy with the design, the table was created especially for them. The client supplied the power sockets and we had them fitted to the table in the positions that the client wanted.

The process was an easy and simple one for the client, from the initial contact, right through to the delivery of the item, but don’t listen to us! Hear it from the client themselves:
